What is an end-of-life doula or death doula?
An end-of-life doula, sometimes called a death doula, offers non-medical support to individuals and families during serious illness, the final days of life, and shortly after a death. My focus is on honoring life, supporting families, and helping people feel less alone during a difficult time.
How is this different from hospice?
Hospice provides medical care.
I provide non-medical support.
I work alongside hospice by supporting the emotional, spiritual, and practical needs of both the individual and their family while hospice manages all medical care.
When do people usually reach out?
Some people reach out before hospice starts, some during hospice, some in the final days, and some after a death. There’s no wrong time to ask for support.
Do you provide hands-on care?
Yes. I provide non-medical personal care such as hygiene support, repositioning for comfort, and respite care for family caregivers. I do not provide nursing or medical care.
Can you help during the final days or hours?
Yes. I offer non-medical personal care and repositioning to increase comfort and dignity. This may include emotional support for families, gentle guidance, and helping maintain a calm environment.
Can you explain what we’re seeing as death approaches?
I can share general information about changes families often notice near the end of life. I don’t diagnose, predict timing, or give medical guidance. Hospice should always be contacted with medical concerns.
Will you tell us how long our loved one has?
No. Only medical providers can speak to timing. My role is to support you and help you know when to reach out to hospice
Do you help with legacy or memory projects?
Yes. I help individuals and families create meaningful legacy projects such as letters, recordings, and memory-keeping that honor a person’s life.
Do you support families after death?
Yes. I offer emotional support and guidance in the hours following a death, including what to expect next and who to contact.
Is your work faith-based?
My work is rooted in faith, compassion, and service, while remaining respectful of all beliefs and worldviews. Support is always guided by what feels right for the individual and family.

Do you offer virtual support?
Virtual support options are coming soon and will include online guidance and education for families who need support from a distance.
How do we get started?
Reach out through the contact page or by phone. We’ll talk through your situation and see if my services are a good fit.
